Preorders
Preorders
Preorders are configured per product. Open the product in Administration and use the Preorder tab added by the plugin.
Product settings
Enable Active, then configure the following values:
| Setting | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Preorder quantity | The maximum quantity available for preorder. A value above zero is required. |
| Preorder type | Determines whether the customer pays partially, fully, or may choose. |
| Preorder percentage | The percentage collected now for partial-payment modes. Valid values are 0–100. |
| Preorder price | Optional preorder unit price. Leave it at zero to use the product’s calculated price, including price tiers where applicable. |
| Preorder available from | Optional date and time before which customers cannot submit a preorder. |
| Product available from | Optional customer-facing availability information shown with the preorder. |
Payment modes
- Partial or full payment lets the customer choose between the configured deposit and paying in full.
- Partial payment requires the configured deposit.
- Full payment requires the full preorder amount.
Customers must accept the preorder consent before submitting. The preorder quantity selector cannot exceed the configured preorder quantity.
Customer journey
The preorder creates an order and a preorder request. The customer can review it under My preorders in their account, where the product, quantity, total, paid amount, remaining amount, and current status are shown.
For an unpaid balance, the customer can use the payment action when it becomes available. A customer may also be able to cancel the preorder according to the current request state.
When stock arrives
When the product becomes available, the plugin queues a preorder notification. Fully paid preorders receive a fulfillment-ready notification. Partially paid preorders receive a notification containing a link to pay the remaining amount.
Keep regular and preorder items separate while testing: the plugin prevents carts from mixing preorder and regular products.
