Gift Wrap & Messages

Storefront and orders

Understand gift wrapping selection, quantities, messages, prices, and order display.

Storefront and orders

Product page

Eligible options appear in the Make it a gift box. Every row reserves the same visual space for media, colour, or a fallback icon, so names and prices remain aligned.

When the selected option allows messages, the form shows From (optional), To (optional), and Message (optional). The configured message limit is applied to the message field. Recipient fields are optional and stored with the wrapping.

The displayed wrapping price uses the active product price. If an active advanced price exists, the first calculated advanced price is used; otherwise the standard calculated product price is used.

Cart and offcanvas cart

Wrapping is associated with a product but stored as a separate line item. The storefront displays it under that product rather than as an unrelated product row.

Customers can add additional available wrapping options from cart/offcanvas when the plugin configuration allows it. Once every eligible option is selected, the add form is hidden. Removing one makes it available again.

The total wrapping quantity for one product cannot exceed that product's quantity. For example, for a product quantity of three, customers can choose two units of one wrapping and one unit of another. The product remains one line item; only the wrapping is split.

Prices and free wrapping

A free threshold is checked for each product and wrapping. When it applies, cart, offcanvas, checkout, and order pages show the original wrapping price crossed out next to a red 0.00 price. A threshold of 0 is ignored.

Checkout and orders

Checkout confirmation, order completion, and customer account order pages show the saved wrapping beneath the related product, including media/colour, name, recipient details, message, and price. These pages are read-only.

Administration order detail groups wrapping beneath the product in the name column. It shows quantity, recipient details, message, unit price, and calculated subtotal. Wrapping price and subtotal therefore remain correct when more than one unit is selected.
