Shop The Look

Create and manage scenes

Build product-led visual scenes for the Shop The Look plugin.

Create and manage scenes

A scene is the visual starting point of Shop The Look. It combines an image with the products and, where useful, product categories shown in that image.

Create a scene

  1. Open the Shop The Look area in the Shopware Administration.
  2. Create a new scene and give it an internal name that your team will recognise.
  3. Upload the main scene image.
  4. Save the scene before adding related content.

Use an image that has enough empty space around the featured products. This makes the scene easier to read on smaller screens and gives you room for product markers if your storefront theme uses them.

Connect products

In the scene's product assignment, add every product that belongs to the look. The plugin stores these assignments with the scene, so a product can be used in more than one scene.

Choose products that are live and purchasable in the sales channel where the scene will appear. A scene can still be saved while products are incomplete, but a visitor should never land on an unavailable look by accident.

Connect categories

Category assignments help you group a scene into a broader visual collection. Use them when a scene belongs to a room, season, product family or campaign. They are especially useful together with the category and category-list CMS elements.

Publish safely

Before placing a new scene in a Shopping Experience layout, check the following:

  • The media file is published and has an appropriate crop for desktop and mobile.
  • Linked products are active, priced and available in the intended sales channel.
  • The scene has the right category assignments when it will be displayed in category-based lists.
  • The CMS layout is assigned only to the intended category, landing page or experience world.

A scene is reusable content. Create it once, then use the same scene in a single-scene block, a slider or a bundle where it makes sense.
